那棵树🌲跟那九个球把我留下啦

一看到是这麽小的一个学校，我心就凉啦。

那麽一棵树，一本书，还有九个球，干甚麽的？

哦，这是生命书，九个球是9个生命果子，前面的书是生命书，是聖經。9个果子就是仁爱，喜楽，和平，恩慈。。。。。。核心價值观的核心。

我听了，凉了的心又温暖啦。

我在北京特殊教育学校教学，。。。。我来这个学校考擦了周围的环景，非常好的条件办特殊教育。

It was evening. I got his email with CV. I checked websites but couldn't locate his performance or record. Then I called him. He answered and told me that he came to Dongguang in 2007 and stayed here for 2.5 years. Then he went to Guiyang and worked as VP there.Later he went to Beijing and studied music. He asked me how much salary we offered. I said, "three thousand dollars a month, because we are a charity school for migrant workers' children; and we charge very low tuition fees/" 

He burst out laughing, heartily. 

"I know you should be earning at least 30,000 a month. But this school is very special. I am from Hong Kong. The school is run by HK businessmen. We have connections with HK. I have been working as a volunteer for a year. At first, I just want to teach English for fun, for understanding the people and the place . Then I fell in love with the school. It has a deep meaning. The children and teachers have peasant background and came from different provinces. Their learning experience here will be brought back to their home towns. It has a great influence. My vision is to develop something related to using ICT to teach English. I think this is particularly meaningful for schools in remote areas, where English teachers hesitate to go. As the school is in great difficulty, my challenge is to turn it around." 

"HoHoHo...! He laughed heartily and then said, "Are you in charge?" 

"Yes, I am School Supervisor".

"Then I shall come to your school. Now I am going to buy the tickets." 

He gave me his word. 

22 February 2015 

It was 1.10 when I arrived at school. He was already in and had inspected the school. 

We had a chat and then we went to the music room. He played the piano, sang a few songs, and played the Di Zi. He got such a lovely tenor voice. Rare. No wonder he won so many prizes. "I started to learn to play the piano only when I was eighteen. My family couldn't afford the tuition fees." 

I shook hands with him. "You should come with me to HK. And we make good this school. It is commonplace if you serve in a high end school, with children from rich families, and you make a good choir there. But here, in Yu Tim, with basically no one playing music and learning singing, creating an outstanding choir and orchestra is a miracle. This will make history. This is the model we want for our country. You will become a globally renowned music educator." 

"I was disappointed when I found the school so small," he said. 

"Oh, our school is not small compared with many schools in Chang Ping. Some schools are smaller than ours, and some have a bigger campus but many more students. Compared with HK, our campus is very big and very spacious." 

"I did feel disappointed, but after meeting you and talking to you, I feel no regret." 

Then we went to the staff quarters. He found the room okay. "We don't have hot water supply," I said. 

"Oh, it doesn't matter. You see I am sweating. I don't need hot water." 

How lucky we are! Here's one who doesn't mind our primitive and harsh living environment!

Reunion at mom's country house 2: 三代爱情观

 那是70年代，从海南岛的三亚到黑龙江边的新生乡， 倫敦 的自然博物馆到沙巴的热带雨淋， 爱情就是志趣 相投，一起爱国爱地球，天涯海角更梦系 魂牵。结婚就是以身相许，二人连为一体，患难与共.....


“妈， 你和爸结婚前有相親吗？”
“我没有呀，但是你爸有看过我。那天，我们一群女孩担黄豆到墟市，原来安排了你爸在一个地点看了我。结婚那晚上我才见到你爸。”
我们从没有听过爸妈闹意见，总是相親相爱，爸每天回家，总是说：老婆大人，我番来啦！然后big hug 拥抱。饭桌 上讲一次走日本仔，学校倒下，他四年级失学，强烈要求我们要好好读书....
爸60 后中风，妈照顾了他25年，不离不棄。

Reunion at mom's country house

It was the first reunion dinner in 20 years that all of us - five brothers and sisters came together. 

Sis had returned from the States for good. 

The same old country house, the same white washed walls, the same green window frames, and the same traditional cakes, turnip pudding, and a big fish in the middle of the round table top. 

While all of us are residing in apartments or country houses here or overseas, with rosewood dining table, European style couch, American style backyard, back home, this primitive little stone house, is the warmth, care and most valuable kinship and family love. 

Whenever we see these old furnishings, and the dear old doors, the windows with square frames, the cushions from brothers' and sisters' homes, with flower patterns from different eras, we just want to hug them, sit on them, and don't want to change them. 

They bring us back to the old days. 

Mom, what's this for? 
Oh, for cooking the rice puddings. The wood is cut from tree branches blown down during typhoons. Puddings cooked by burning firewood taste better, don't they? 

Six pussies waited for their meals.

Mom is a great environmentalist. She saves everything. 

I wonder if we can ever find such a great masterpiece as this big round iron board, expanding a table for five to one for ten! 

The fish costs $600. Yummy though. Good value for money. 

The fish balls were special gifts from Chiu Chau, and the white turnip were freshly picked from mom's garden. They won the most praises.
